Getting Started: Creating Your First Life

MoneyCQ is a two-year life simulation. You start with $1,000 and a week ahead of you, then survive 104 weeks of salary, rent, bills, side hustles, unexpected disasters, recessions, promotions and life events — with every decision feeding your Cash Quotient.

What it is

Each world runs under one country’s real financial rules — income tax, social contributions, and a retirement scheme. Nothing is invented: your salary is taxed, your retirement contributions are locked away, and every cent is tracked in a visible ledger.

What it does

  • Gives you a private simulated life with real money rules.
  • Tracks every transaction in a ledger — salary in, tax out, bills paid.
  • Scores everything with CQ (0–1000) so you can see your financial skill improve.

How to use it

  1. Go to app.moneycq.com and choose New Life.
  2. Pick a region — your country’s tax and retirement rules — or the Generic baseline.
  3. Choose your first job and a place to live (each home shows its capacity and rent).
  4. Set your retirement contribution rate if you’d like (you can change it later).
  5. Start week one and follow the weekly summary.

Good to know

Your first job doesn’t have to be your career. The game is designed so early mistakes are cheap and the lessons stick — that’s the whole point of a simulated life.
